Here’s what we’re talking about over our orange juice:
Cee Lo Green pleaded no contest to a felony count on Friday for furnishing ecstasy to woman. He was sentenced to probation and community service in regard to a charge filed against him in 2012, when he slipped ecstasy into a woman’s drink during a Los Angeles dinner. The Grammy award-winning singer was originally charged with rape in 2013, but that was later dropped once his attorney proved that the sex was consensual. Green will be able to serve his community service through the MusiCares Foundation. Green turned to Twitter to rant about the case, and rape, tweeting, “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!” He added that his no contest plea was not an admission of guilt. “So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?” he asked. Umm… [Complex]
Chris Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting a man outside a Washington D.C. hotel last year. The “New Flame” singer appeared in court today where he apologized for his actions. “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry,” he said. Brown was on probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009 when he had a run-in with the victim. [Associated Press]
The past weekend was full of celebrity weddings. Evan Ross, son of Diana Ross, tied the knot with his girlfriend Ashlee Simpson. The two were married at Diana’s Connecticut home on Sunday. Even though it rained before the event, “the wedding went perfectly,” said Diana. “We had a beautiful rainbow surrounding us.” Congrats to the newlyweds! [ETOnline]
