• Drake is set to host the very first episode of Saturday Night Live in 2014. It was announced this weekend that the rapper will host and perform on the January 18th show. Drake previously appeared on the comedy-sketch laugher back in 2011. His latest album, Nothing Was the Same, was released in September. [EW]
• CeeLo Green has big plans in the new year. The outspoken TV personality and artist confirmed to TMZ that Gnarls Barkley will reunite in 2014. Their last album, The Odd Couple, was released in 2008. It’s unclear if they will reunite for a concert or to create new music. [TMZ]
• Aretha Franklin says work is underway on her upcoming album, which will feature covers. All of the selected songs come from female artists of her choosing. Among the selected tracks are Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” and Barbra Streisand’s “People.” Franklin even joked that she may cover Destiny’s Child’s “Bootylicious.” [EURweb]
• Chris Brown was given a “day pass” from his current rehab stint, reports TMZ. The troubled singer hosted and volunteered at a toy drive for under privileged children in Los Angeles this weekend. “Thank you to all the fans who brought gifts for the kids today,” he tweeted. “Have a wonderful holiday. You’ve made a merry Christmas for a young child!” [TMZ]
