• Funeral arrangements have been made for late rapper Chris Kelly of the hit ’90s group Kriss Koss. According to Extra, Kelly’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday with a public viewing at Atlanta’s Murray Brothers Funeral Home. The next day, funeral services will be held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. Producer Jermaine Dupri remembered his good friend and “son” on Twitter. Dupri said, “To the world Chris was Mac Daddy, but to me, he was a son I never had. As much as you may think I taught him, he taught me.” [Extra TV]
• Lauryn Hill has paid her $900,000 debt to the federal government and the state of New Jersey, her lawyer confirmed on Sunday. Today, Hill is scheduled to appear before a judge in the final sentencing in her tax evasion case. She is charged with failing to pay taxes been 2005 and 2007. In related news, Hill released “Neurotic Society” on Friday. The singer said she was “required” to release the song ASAP. [Reuters]
• Mariah Carey is allegedly threatening to cancel her appearance on this week’s episode of American Idol. According to Fox News, Carey is fed-up with fellow judge Nicki Minaj. “Mariah doesn’t want to come back,” said an insider. “Nicki is really disrespecting her and she’s tired of trying to bit her tongue all the time.” [Fox News]
• Justin Timberlake may have released his third studio album, The 20/20 Experience, last March, but he’s gearing up for a part two.
