• Jay-Z’s upcoming album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, will feature a special duet with wife Beyoncé. The couple will appear on “Part II (On the Run),” a song in which a girl makes a bad guy go good. • Rev. Al Sharpton will release a new book, The Rejected Stone. The book will cover his life as an activist and his rise to political office. It will be published by Cash Money Content, a partnership with Simon & Schuster. The Rejected Stone will be available in stores on October 8th. The book will also include his thoughts on several rappers including Lil Wayne. “Just because we disagree doesn’t mean we have to be disagreeable,” said Sharpton. [Grio]
• Yesterday, the Senate passed a bill that will overhaul the immigration system in America—giving illegal immigrants a chance to become citizens. Star Republican Senator Marco Rubio said, “Even with our challenges, we remain the shinning City on the Hill. We are still the hope of the world,” referring to America. “Got to our factories and fields. Go to our kitchens and construction sites. Go to the cafeteria of this very Capitol. There, you will find that the miracle of America still lives.” [Grio]
• Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta star K. Michelle was scheduled to release a new album on July 30th. However, the singer-turned-reality-TV star’s project will now be released on August 13th. The highly anticipated album is called Rebellious Soul. [TGJ]
