• New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has given Jay-Z the green light to perform atop the famed Ed Sullivan Theater, home of The Late Show with David Letterman, on July 8th. The mayor stopped the rapper from performing at the same rooftop in 2010. According to sources, a portion of the street below be closed during is performance for security and safety reasons. Jay-Z’s free concert will be in support of his upcoming album, Magna Carter Holy Grail. [Huffington Post]
• George Lucas and Mellody Hobson’s wedding festivities continue. The couple, who jumped the broom on June 22nd, celebrated their union in Chicago this past weekend. They invited close friends to party with them in the Windy City. Al Roker, Gayle King, Ne-Yo, Jesse Jackson and more were all on hand to celebrate. Prince even provided the night’s music. • Troubled ex-NFL star Terrell Owens wiped away his $438,913 tax bill. Back in February, the IRS filed a mega tax lien against Owens for neglecting to pay taxes in 2005, 2007 and 2009. As of this weekend, Owens has paid off the entire bill. [TMZ]
• Jermaine Dupri is Uncle Sam’s latest target. The super producer was hit with a $798,692 tax lien by the IRS recently. He’s accused of not paying taxes in 2008, 2010 and 2011. However, as TMZ reports, he’s no stranger to tax troubles. He recently paid off a $3 million tax lien for unpaid taxes in 2006. And before that, he was ordered to pay $500K to the state of Georgia for unpaid taxes. [TMZ]
