• Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom starring Idris Elba and Naomie Harris has been sold to several more markets, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Over the weekend, Harvey Weinstein discussed the film at the Cannes Film Festival and announced it would be released in the states in November. Now it will be shown in the U.K., France, Germany, Australia, Scandinavia, Brazil, Hong Kong and more cities across the globe. • Last night, Janelle Monáe performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. She filled in for the legendary Aretha Franklin, who canceled due to illness. “It’s such an honor to be here,” said Monáe before launching into song with the orchestra. Her set lasted 90 minutes and she sang many of her own hits. Monáe even tried her at hand several classics including “Goldfinger” by Shirley Bassey. [Rolling Stone]
