Funny-man Kevin Hart has a soft side. The comedian made a plea to National Car Rental service to reinstate Genesha Bradley-Douglas, who was fired after leaving her shuttlebus to snap a selfie with Hart. “If I’d have seen me I would’ve taken a selfie with me, too!” he said. “Come on! Have some compassion.” We’ll see if his heartfelt plea does the trick. [TMZ]
Cheryl Boone Isaacs, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will receive the Silver Achievement Award. The 2014 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood honoree is being honored by the YWCA of the Greater Los Angeles Area for her “service to the community” on November 14. Boone Isaacs made history in 2013 as the third woman and first African American to become president of the Academy. [The Hollywood Reporter]
The rumor mill keeps turning with hints of a Girlfriends movie! Golden Brooks, known for her role as the street-wise Maya Wilkes, said there have definitely been movie talks with the creators of the beloved sitcom. The NBA forward has been bathing in wine for the last 6 months to help his body rejuvenate. “It allows me to create more circulation in my red blood cells,” Stoudemire said. Must be working.
