President Barack Obama wants you and Cousin Pookie to get to the polls. “It’s not enough to just vote,” the president said in a rally on Sunday, “You’ve got to get your family to vote. You’ve got to get your friends to vote. You’ve got to get your co-workers to vote. You’ve got to get that Cousin Pookie sitting at home on the couch—he’s at home watching football right now instead of being here at this rally—you’ve got to talk to him and let him know it’s not hard to exercise the franchise that previous generations fought so hard to obtain.” [USA Today]
Stacey Dash wants Pookie to vote too, but not for Democrats. When asked if she felt Obamacare and voting with the Obama administration was helping the minority community in Louisiana, Dash was quick to say no. “It keeps them stuck,” she said in an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity. “They’re getting money for free. They feel worthless. They are uneducated. As long as you are that way they can keep you under their control.” Dash went on to criticize Democratic candidates further. “They have a plantation mentality. As long as they give you this much money you’ll to stay right there and you don’t need to know too much because if you do, you’re going to start thinking for yourself.” [The Griot]
