• According to several sources, Lamar Odom has checked himself into rehab for drug and alcohol abuse. “He realized he needs help,” said a source. Last friday, Odom was arrested for driving under the influence. Not long before that, the NBA free agent reportedly went missing for several days before emerging. Odom has a past with drugs. In 2001, he violated the NBA’s drug policies twice in a period of eight months. [People]
• OWN’s breakout series The Haves & The Have Nots scored major ratings during its finale on Tuesday, reports Deadline.com. A record 2.6 million people tuned into the season finale this week. It earned major points across all key demographics, including women. New episodes of the night-time soap will begin airing in January of 2014. [Deadline]
• Tamar Braxton’s newest album, Love & War, is scheduled to make a big splash on the Billboard charts next week. The album is predicted to sell between 105k and 110k copies, potentially earning the number two spot on the charts. Tonight, her reality show with hubby Vincent Herbert is scheduled to kick off its new season on We TV. [TGJ]
• Last week Dave Chappelle was heckled so much he walked off stage during a stand-up performance in Hartford, Connecticut. Last night, as he took the stage in Chicago, he thanked the crowd and said he’s never returning to the East Coast town. “I will never go back,” said Chappelle, “I won’t even go to Hartford for f*cking gas.” He took it a step further and wished a bomb would drop on the town. “I don’t want anything to happen to the United States, but if North Korea drops a nuclear bomb on this country, I swear to God, I hope it lands in Hartford, Connecticut.” [EW]
