Happy Friday! There’s some surprising news to talk about about in today’s Coffee Talk.
LeBron James says “only basketball, baseball, and soccer are allowed” in his house. The NBA champ is not allowing his two sons to play football, citing the contact sport’s health hazards, ESPN reports. The current NBA star was once a football player himself, as the All-Ohio wide receiver at Akron’s St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He’s even taken his sons to the Cleveland Browns’ training camp to play catch. But the concerned dad isn’t ready to let them play on a team just yet. “We don’t want them to play in our household right now until they understand how physical and how demanding the game is. Then they can have their choice in high school, we’ll talk over it,” James said. “But right now there’s no need for it. It’s a safety thing. As a parent you protect your kids as much as possible.” [ESPN]
