• Mary J. Blige is in trouble with Uncle Sam this morning. The singer was hit with a $3.4 million tax lien over the weekend. She allegedly owes taxes on income earned in 2009, 2010 and 2011. It’s the most recent financial woe facing the singer. Earlier this year she was hit with a $900K tax lien from the state of New Jersey. She was also sued by Bank of America in February for defaulting on a $500K loan. And in November of 2012, Blige and her husband, Martin Kendu, were the target of a lawsuit filed by Signature Bank in New York’s supreme court for allegedly defaulting on a $2.2 million loan. [TMZ]
• Last night, Miguel took the stage at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. However, things went off track when he fell short in a jump over a small crowd, crash landing on a fan. It was quite a dramatic scene which left all of Twitter chatting. Immediately following, Miguel tweeted an update on the fan. “Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay,” he shared. • Gabrielle Union landed a part in Chris Rock’s upcoming movie, Finally Famous. The actress will play Rock’s love interest, who encourages the comedian-turned actor to get a reality show to boost their fame. The film is written by Rock and it will be directed by him. There’s no word when filming will begin. [Black Film]
• Star Trek smashed the competition at the box office this weekend. It earned $84.1 million, taking the top spot. Iron Man earned the second spot with $35.2 million and The Great Gatsby came in at number three with $23.4 million. [Hollywood Reporter]
