• Mary J. Blige’s father, Thomas, is in critical condition after allegedly being stabbed by an ex-girlfriend Thursday night. According to the Battle Creek Enquirer, Blige suffered three stab wounds including one to the neck during a domestic dispute. The ex-girlfriend was found in a nearby apartment in the same complex. She was arrested and booked on assault with intent to murder charges. She’s expected to be arraigned today. Blige remains hospitalized. [Battle Creek Enquirer] [USA Today]
• Kevin Hart’s show idea based loosely based off his life and stand up comedy has been ordered to pilot by ABC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. If the show gets picked up for a full season, Hart will more than likely play a recurring role on the show. Hart along with Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan will executive produce the show. • Rapper Nicki Minaj isn’t happy with her new ESPN cover. Minaj tweeted an image of the cover saying, “When retouching goes wrong.” It appears that Minaj’s face has been altered on the cover, while Kobe Bryant looks virtually untouched. She offered up another shot from the shoot, this time it’s unretouched. “I love my personal unretouched photos where my forehead doesn’t mysteriously grow in length,” she captioned.
