Here’s something sweet to add to your coffee:
• Monica may be next in line on the celeb expectant mother list. This past weekend the sultry singer took her talents to the 8th Annual Jazz in the Garden event in Miami and she seemed to have a possible bun in the oven. YBF reports that she appeared to be hiding behind a loose-fitting blazer and an over-sized handbag and concert goers say the singer’s belly stuck out more than usual. She also seemed to be resting her hand on her stomach in the press room and stuck to a few specific poses when being photographed. This would be the 32-year-old mom’s third child if she is in fact pregnant, and the first that she’d have with husband Shannon Brown. [YBF]
• Golden Brooks is bringing out her dark side in her new movie Polish Bar. The Girlfriends star plays a stripper in the film and she’s excited to take on a more dramatic screen role. “After doing Girlfriends for so long, I wanted to take a chance and do a really dark, independent film,” Brooks spilled to BET. “Actually, my roots are in drama. It’s comedy I have to work hard at. It’s easier for me to channel pain than to make people laugh. And I had to do that all the time for Girlfriends. I love doing it, but I knew I wanted to do more as an actress.” Polish Bar is available on iTunes, Cable Video on Demand and Amazon.com [BET]
• Ahmad “Real” Givens of VH1’s reality shows, I Love New York and Real Chance of Love, has been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. A representative for the reality TV star told TMZ that Real had started feeling ill in January with what he had mistaken to be the flu, only to later learn that he potentially had liver complications. It wasn’t until last week that the star found out he was suffering from colon cancer. Real is being treated at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Beverly Hills and will remain there until doctors decide on how to proceed with further treatment. [TMZ]
• Eve is back on the map with a video for her new single “Make It Out This Town.” The inspirational tune features Gabe Saporta of dance-pop band, Cobra Starship, and Eve hopes to spread a very personal message through the lyrics. “I went through obstacles to get my music and message out and nothing embodies this more than this song, which also mirror my recent honor and connection that comes with my role as an ambassador for Big Brother Big Sisters,” Eve spills. “The song is dedicated to them.”
“Make It Out This Town” is the first single lifted off of Eve’s album, Lip Lock, set to hit stores May 14. Check out the video below and tell us what you think. [Rap-Up]
