• Pat Houston was involved in a suicide scare yesterday. Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law posted a puzzling message on her Facebook wall that sent her friends and family into a tizzy. “Sometimes you just feel like giving up on life and its many challenges,” she wrote. “And for the first time in my life… I’m tired… and I want to finally rest. I love you guys.” According to TMZ, family and friends began to call Pat and didn’t receive an answer. Upon arriving to her Alpharetta, Georgia home, her family found her passed out with pill bottle next to her. They then called 911 and Pat explained that she had taken pain pills for her back and turned off her phone to sleep. Pat reportedly told all of those concerned that she was never suicidal. She was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and was later released. [TMZ]
• Good Morning America host Robin Roberts will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2013 ESPYS. Roberts is being honored for her trailblazing career in television as well as winning her battle against two illnesses. “Robin’s accomplishments in so many areas—as an athlete, a broadcaster, a cancer survivor and more—demonstrate her ability to shine regardless of adversity and we could not be more proud to honor her as the recipient of this year’s Arthur Ashe Courage Award,” said ESPN president John Skipper. • Beyoncé will headline the The Sound of Change Live concert in London on June 1. The concert is part of Chime for Change’s global campaign for girls’ and women’s empowerment. Other acts slated to hit the stage include John Legend, Iggy Azalea, Rita Ora and Timbaland. [Chime for Change]
• Raheem DeVaughn released a new lyric video for his latest single “Love Connection.” He reached out to his fans on Facebook and Twitter asking them to send their own photos inspired by the song. The single is lifted from his upcoming album, A Place Called Loveland, slated for a summer release.
