Paula Patton and Robin Thicke’s marriage has been heavily covered in the news, ever since their separation earlier this year. Whether they’re following through with the divorce or not is still unclear, though they have put their 3,158 square-foot Los Angeles mansion on the market. The estate includes three bedrooms (one of which is a music studio), three and a half bathrooms, a swimming pool, two fireplaces and beautiful canyon views. Actor Chadwick Boseman says James Brown’s family is behind the new biopic, Get on Up. After attending private viewings, Boseman says Brown’s daughters told him that they “love it” and that they “can’t wait for people to see it.” The film hits theaters August 1. [TheGrio]
Six-time Tony Award winner, Audra McDonald, has put the original Broadway musical Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill in the headlines. The cast album following the life of the late Billie Holiday has taken the #1 slot in four different Billboard charts in its first week of being released. The charts include being #1 in Cast Albums, #1 in Jazz, #1 in Traditional Jazz and #1 in Heatseekers. The show has been extended through Sept. 21st. [Playbill]
Morgan Freeman made a memorable appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon Thursday. As usual, funnyman Fallon was up to no good and got the iconic actor to inhale helium, for part of the interview. Freeman’s voice was so far from his classic sound, that Fallon (and the audience) couldn’t stop laughing. Meanwhile, Freeman kept his serious and stoic nature, telling Jimmy, “I am never coming back.”
