• The kidnapping drama, Prisoners, starring Viola Davis, Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal opened with strong numbers this weekend. The thriller earned the top spot at the box office with $21.4 million. According to Fox News, that’s reasonably good for a fall season debut, especially since the film took $30 million to make. Horror flick Insidious: Chapter 2 took the second spot with $14.5 million. Instructions Not Included, The Family and Battle of The Year rounded out the top five. [Fox News]
• Last week it was reported that Shellie Zimmerman, George Zimmerman’s wife, wants a divorce. However, proceedings have stalled because George can’t be found—therefore he can’t be served papers. A source says George plans to stay out of the spotlight for a while. He caused an uproar when he and Shellie allegedly got into an altercation and George allegedly punched Shellie’s father. [TMZ]
• Christina Milian says she’s feeling slimmer and trimmer after just one week on Dancing with the Stars. The singer and actress tweeted, “I’ve already lost seven pounds since I started #dwts! Owww!” Other notable stars who claim to have shed pounds while on the show include Kelly Osbourne, Maris Osmond and Kristie Alley, who says she lost 100 lbs.
