- The suspense for Rihanna’s new album is almost over. Seven is scheduled to hit stores on November 19th, the same day as fellow R&B singer Keyshia Cole’s new album. “Diamonds,” the first single on the upcoming album, is already climbing the charts. [That Grape Juice]
- George Zimmerman is considering filing a lawsuit against NBC for defamation, according to his lawyer Mark O’Mara. Zimmerman, who is being charged with second-degree murder for the killing of Trayvon Martin, claims that NBC edited the audio recording of his 911 tape. “Due in large part to NBC’s actions, George has had to live in hiding, in fear for his life,” O’Mara said in a statement. “Yes, we are considering a lawsuit against NBC for defamation, and we have collaborated with outside counsel to advise Mr. Zimmerman.” [Huffington Post]
- Kanye West has left the Twitterverse. The 35-year-old rapper deleted all of his tweets on Thursday, but left his 8.6 million followers with a good-bye message. “Be back soon,” he wrote. [US Weekly]
- At a recent Colorado campaign event, President Barack Obama gave his overview of the first presidential debate that kicked off on Wednesday night. The commander-in-chief said that his opponent, Mitt Romney, owes the American people the truth. “The man on stage last night doesn’t want to be held to account … for what he’s been selling for the last year,” he said. In related news, Entertainment Weekly reports that the debate was the most-tweeted political event in Twitter’s history, with 158,690 tweets per minute. [The Grio]
- Oscar winner Octavia Spencer will be gracing the November cover of Elle magazine’s Women in Hollywood issue. In an interview with the publication, Spencer opened up about her experiences of being bullied in Hollywood. “Early on I had to stand up to a producer—I won’t say who, but he is famous, ” she said. “He dressed me down in a crowded office. I told him right there in front of a hundred people, ‘You don’t know me well enough to use that tone.'” The issue hits newsstands on October 16th. [PEOPLE]
