• The road to recovery still proves to be bumpy for Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts. The beloved host was admitted into the hospital recently after cutting her Key West vacation short. She posted a short note on her Facebook wall. “They felt it best to admit me into the hospital for a few days,” wrote Roberts. “Seems my young immune system needed a little boost to fight off ‘opportunistic infections.’ My doctors assured me that this was NOT because I was working or doing too much, too soon. It’s extremely common, post bone marrow transplant, to have complications. I’m blessed that mine have not been severe.” Roberts plans to return to work next week. [Radar Online]
• This Friday on Steve Harvey, high school students Ashlee Ernst and Thomas Pope will chat with Harvey about their personal experiences of being among the 100 students selected to participate in the Disney Dreamers Academy in March. • Could Kanye West be heading to Saturday Night Live? According to the New York Post, the controversial rapper will perform new music on the May 18th episode of SNL. He’s reportedly been working on new music in Paris for the last several months. Despite the news making headlines, NBC officials haven’t confirmed the acts for that episode. [New York Post]
• Could Will Smith replace Ben Affleck in the upcoming con-artist film, Focus? According to Variety, Smith is in talks to take on the dramatic film. Affleck reportedly dropped out of the movie and the studio has been looking for another big-name actor to sign on. Smith’s latest film, After Earth, opens in theaters June 13. [Variety]
