• Robin Roberts officially returned to the Good Morning America anchor chair this morning. Roberts was greeted with lots of love and smiles as video messages from her celebrity friends and the First Couple poured in. “Robin, we just want you to know that the whole Obama family, we’ve been thinking about you, and praying for you, and rooting for you every step of the way,” said Mrs. Obama. “You’ve been an inspiration to all of us and we couldn’t be happier that you’re back here, doing what do you do best,” said the president. Roberts greeted America saying she’s been waiting 174 days to get back to work. “Faith, family and friends have brought me to this moment and I am so full of gratitude… There’s so many people that I want to thank throughout the morning, my doctors and nurses and family and colleagues and people who have sat in the chair and those who have blazed the trail before me.” [People]
• Not only does Nicki Minaj have albums and perfumes for fans to buy, but the rapper now has her very own comic book. She teamed up with Bluewater Comics to release a special Fame edition featuring her life. The comic book follows Minaj’s life from growing up in Queens, New York to the present. [Vibe]
• Afeni Shakur will release her late son’s entire body of work very soon and has teamed up with Jampol Artist Management to make it happen. “I believe it is our responsibility to make sure that Tupac’s entire body of work is made available for his fans,” said Shakur. “My son left many incomplete pieces and even more unfinished ideas. Using the blueprints he gave us, I am committed to fulfilling this duty.” [Billboard]
• Beyonce’s documentary, Life Is But a Dream, earned 1.8 million viewers last Saturday. It was HBO’s most watched show since Spike Lee’s 2006 documentary When the Leeves Broke. Inside the film, Beyoncé opened up about a number issues including her relationship with father, Mathew Knowles, and the birthday of her daughter, Blue Ivy. [That Grape Juice]
