The Shield actor Michael Jace has been arrested for the murder of his wife, April Jace. Michael Jace called police Monday evening to report that his wife had been shot, saying, “I shot my wife.” The couple’s children, both under 10 years old, witnessed the incident that law enforcement say most likely started as an argument. Jace was taken into custody by Los Angeles police and is being booked for murder. [TMZ]
Chuck D and 50 Cent have been tapped to executive produce and serve as instructors for the new season of Dream School. The series introduces troubled teens who have dropped out of high school to mentors who are successful musicians, journalists, filmmakers, scientists, athletes and actors to inspire them to turn their lives around. Wanda Sykes is set to serve as a mentor on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. The Emmy-nominated series will be hosted by Real Husbands of Hollywood star JB Smoove. Sykes, also set to executive produce, will be joined by Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters who will serve as judges. The series debuts Thursday, May 22 at 9 p.m. EST. Mariah Carey will be given an award for her icon status at the World Music Awards. The ceremony set to take place in Monte Carlo will present Carey with the Icon Award for “having sold over 200 million records and having more No. 1 singles in America than any other solo act.” Carey will perform at the May 27 ceremony.
