Tia and Tamera Mowry are working on a new series of young adult books. The Twintuition series has already been picked up by HarperCollins Children’s Books, with the first book, Double Vision, set to release April 21, 2015. Although details about the books haven’t been divulged, the twins did hint at the genre. “We are huge fans of supernatural fiction and have always wanted to write a book that tweens can relate to,” said the sisters. “This project gives us a chance to combine both interests.” [EOnline]
After being pulled from her Wimbledon doubles match earlier this month due to a virus, Serena Williams is ready to return to the court for the US Open. Williams said that she “was really ill, and really under the weather,” so the tennis star took some time to rest up. With all of the drama surrounding Donald Sterling and the Los Angeles Clippers, everyone is ready for some good news. A judge ruled that Sterling’s wife, Shelly, now has the authority to sell the team to the ex-Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer. The sale of the Clippers is expected to go through by August 15. [BuzzFeed]
U.S. track competitor Torrin Lawrence died Monday, after a fatal car accident on a Georgia highway. The former University of Georgia track star had a tire blown out in the center of a three-lane highway and was hit by an on-coming semi truck. Lawrence had already called 911, but was struck before the police could arrive. [YahooSports]
Yesterday, it was reported that there had been a suspected case of the Ebola virus in Lagos, Nigeria. That case has been confirmed, followed by the immediate shut down and quarantine of the hospital where the man died, done by the Nigerian government. [Reuters]
