• Toni Braxton is a single woman. The singer’s divorce from ex-husband Keri Lewis was finalized, her rep shared. Braxton and Lewis were married in 1998, but called it quits three years ago. “The couple has had an amicable split and will still both be actively involved in raising their two sons, 11-year-old Denim and 10-year-old Diezel,” their rep said in a statement. She mentioned during her VH1 Behind the Music Special that their separation took a toll on her. “I had to figure out a plan for my life that had nothing to do with him,” said Braxton. “I was angry with everybody. I couldn’t believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one.” [People]
• Kanye West will more than likely not be prosecuted for allegedly attacking a paparazzi photographer in Los Angeles. According, TMZ law enforcement officials will not move forward on the case and it will be handed over to the District Attorney’s office to be handled as a felony attempted robbery. However, officials feel it won’t be prosecuted there either. TMZ says West will more than likely settle out of court. [TMZ]
• Jay Z and Justin Timberlake are not boycotting the state of Florida. Last week, news began circulating that a number of stars are refusing to step foot in Florida, let alone perform there. It’s not true according to their reps. Jay Z and Timberlake’s Legends of Summer tour stop in Florida on August 16th will go on as scheduled. [Clutch]
• Beyoncé has reportedly heard and scrapped some 50 songs for her upcoming album. The diva was scheduled to release an album this year, but it looks as if she’s planning to start over. Sources said in June that Beyoncé was still in the planning phases and was “still trying to figure out” a direction. A rep for Beyoncé says “there was never an album release date,” but she continues to record new music. [Hollywood Reporter]
