• True Blood actress Rutina Wesley and her husband of ten years have called it quits. According to People, Wesley and Jacob Fishel have been separated since July, but Wesley officially filed for divorce on August 16th. She also asked the judge to deny Fishel any spousal support. Ironically in 2010, Rutina beamed with excitement about her marriage to ESSENCE. “We thought, ‘If we could spend four years together at this crazy school, then we can make it the rest of our lives,'” she said. “He’s an amazing actor, cook and husband. I enjoy him immensely.” [People]
• Will.i.am reportedly turned down a judging gig at American Idol. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he signed a deal to coach the upcoming season of the The Voice U.K. So far, Keith Urban is the only judge to confirm his return. Jennifer Lopez is rumored to be inking a deal soon. [Hollywood Reporter]
• La Toya Jackson is heading to theater! The OWN reality diva will star in the off-Broadway show Newsical The Musical. Her run will last from September 3rd through September 8th. She’ll take over for late ’80s and ’90s star Jackée Harry. Jackson says she’s always wanted to do [theater], but the shows run too long for her comfort. At the end of her short run, she’ll decide if she wants to return at a later date. [NY Post]
• In other Jackson family news, Randy says he’s not pleased that Paris has been in the same treatment facility for nearly two and a half months. He tweeted his feelings, “It’s not right. She is not psychotic. There is no reason for her to be in a psychiatric hospital this long away from her family. There’s something more to this, there’s something going on, I don’t like it. I’m afraid for her.” According to reports, Paris will more than likely remain at the unidentified psychiatric hospital through the end of the month. [Today]
