• Another judge’s seat on American Idol could be empty soon. According to Us Weekly, Nicki Minaj will not be returning to the show next season. The rapper will reportedly focus on her new album, touring and other business ventures. Randy Jackson announced his departure from the show last week after appearing for 12 consecutive seasons. It’s unclear if Mariah Carey or Keith Urban will sign on for the next season. [Us Weekly]
• Lauryn Hill may have performed her very last concert before entering prison. On Tuesday, the singer performed a last minute show in Brooklyn. Hill announced on Twitter that she wanted to perform her newest single, “Neurotic Society Compulsory Mix” before it was too late. Hill must turn herself in to authorities and begin her three-month sentence by July 8. [NBC New York]
• Chris Rock could be appearing on Eminem’s upcoming album. The comedian posted a picture of himself in the studio with the caption, “In the studio with Em don’t sleep.” When later questioned about the picture, he couldn’t confirm nor deny he was in the studio with Eminem. “I was on the Kanye record, maybe I’m on the Eminem record,” he said. “You never know.” [Rolling Stone]
• Musiq Soulchild and Syleena Johnson are teaming up for a duet album. Today, the duo released “Feel the Fire.” It’s the first single from their upcoming album, 9INE, set for a July 9 release. Check out the song below.
