Comedian Patrice O Neal, known to many for his wit on several VH1 shows, died today, according to TMZ. He passed away from complications of a stroke suffered in October.
The announcement came on the “Opie and Anthony” radio show this morning, a show which O’Neal frequented. He was also known for lending his comedic spirit to the Comedy Central celebrity roasts, as well as “Chappelle Show,” “The Office,” and countless other late-night programs, such as Conan O’Brien and David Letterman.
O’Neal’s agent, Matt Frost, released this statement:
“The family wishes to thank all of the fans and friends who have expressed an outpouring of love and support for Patrice these past weeks. We ask that you please respect the family’s request for privacy at this difficult time.”
We wish the family well during this trying time.
