Academy Award winning actor, Forest Whittaker, and rapper Common will soon be teaming up for the new indie movie, “Pawn.”

According to Deadline, the independent film, written by Jay Anthony White, is centered on a hostage situation that has gone terribly wrong. It marks the directorial debut of David A. Armstrong, and is set to begin production on December 1st.

“Pawn” will also star actors Michael Chiklis and Ray Liotta, both heavyweights in the acting arena. Common, a rapper turned actor, has starred in seven films prior to “Pawn” and currently appears in the dramatic AMC television show, “Hell on Wheels.”
