Activist, author, and speaker Dr. Cornell West was arrested while protesting in Ferguson, Missouri on Monday.
West was in Ferguson, Missouri to support the “Ferguson October” rally, which was attended by over 1,000 protesters. He joined the demonstrations at St. Louis University beginning on Sunday night. Journalist Craig Cheatham tweeted a photo of West being arrested earlier today.
“It’s a beautiful thing to see people on fire for justice, but I didn’t come here to give a speech,” West said Sunday night, “I came here to go to jail.
