A California court of appeals has delayed the deposition that Bill Cosby and his former lawyers were scheduled to deliver in a defamation lawsuit brought by Janice Dickinson, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Dickinson filed a lawsuit against Cosby earlier this year, months after she came forward alleging that the actor-comedian had sexually assaulted her. Cosby, who has been accused of rape and sexual assault by 50 women, denied the claims, calling them a “lie,” prompting Dickinson to file a defamation lawsuit.

Cosby and his former attorneys were scheduled to give a deposition in court later this month. However, Cosby challenged the ruling, which a judge approved. Dickinson’s lawyers are still pressing for the deposition.
“Mr. Cosby has employed several law firms with a combined total of over 700 lawyers in an attempt to avoid answering questions from me under oath in our case,” Dickinson’s attorney, Lisa Bloom, told the Los Angeles Times. “We are confident that once the court of appeals hears full argument on the issues, it will allow the deposition of Mr. Cosby and his attorney to go forward.”
