A custodian decided to help herself to her high school students’ wallets while they participated in the National School Walkout this week.
Aisha Evans robbed the students at Richland Northeast High School in South Carolina, stealing up to $180, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said. She allegedly rummaged through three students’ book bags to get the money.
She was immediately arrested and charged with three counts of petty larceny, CNN reports.
“On Thursday, March 15, Service Solutions notified Richland Two that Evans is no longer an employee of the company and was informed that she cannot come on any Richland Two property,” Richland Two School District said in a statement.
Evans has since been fired from her job with the custodial company Service Solutions. She is currently in police custody.
