Dallas nurse Amber Vinson is free of Ebola.
A statement from her family declared that Vinson no longer had the virus in her body.
“Amber and our family are ecstatic to receive this latest report on her condition,” said Vinson’s mom, Debra Berry in a statement released to PEOPLE. “We all know that further treatment will be necessary as Amber continues to gain strength, but these latest developments have truly answered prayers and bring our family one step closer to reuniting with her at home.”
The 29-year-old nurse contracted the Ebola virus while caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first person in the U.S. to die of the virus. Two days after he dies on October 8, Vinson flew from Dallas to Cleveland to plan for her wedding.
Vinson will be transferred out of isolation at Emory University Hospital. There’s no word yet on when she will be released.
