Sexy soul singer D’Angelo is returning to the American stage for one night only!
The Apollo Theater announced today that D’Angelo and The Vanguard will be performing on the legendary stage for a one-night-only concert on Saturday, February 7 at 8pm.
D’Angelo recently made a triumphant return to the music scene with the release of his critically acclaimed album, Black Messiah, the first album he’s released in 14 years. D’Angelo and The Vanguard will be performing songs from this number one album as well as other hits at the Apollo just before heading off on this recently announced tour, The Second Coming European Tour.
This concert will be D’Angelo’s first time as the headlining act at the iconic theater. In 1991, D’Angelo competed in the famous Amateur Night at the Apollo when he was just 16 years old. He used his winnings from that performance to purchase the recording equipment that would eventually help him make his hit debut album, Brown Sugar.
Tickets for the D’Angelo’s show go on sale Wednesday, January 21.
