Selma star David Oyelowo has been tapped to co-star in the upcoming screen adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s best-selling novel, Americanah. The Golden Globe-nominated actor and Academy Award winning actress will play a young Nigerian couple trying to assimilate in a foreign land. Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B, will be producing. Tyler Perry is quickly adjusting to his new role as a father to his newborn son, Aman. Perry says he’s helping out as much as he can with the baby, but admits mommy is doing most of the work. “I wish I could say that I’m up all night but [Gelila] is doing a lot of work,” he said. “We have no nannies, we have no help. Columbia Records will be releasing the official soundtrack to Fox’s new hit drama, Empire, starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. The debut single off of the soundtrack, “No Apologies,” is available today. The complete album will be available shortly after the New Year.
All Michelle Obama wants for Christmas is sleep. The First Lady confessed, while visiting hospitalized children on Monday, that she doesn’t need much for Christmas, but would like a little rest and relaxation. “I just want everybody to be happy, and I want to sleep in. That’s what I want for Christmas. I want to sleep late,” she said.
