According to Deadline, soap opera star Denise Vasi will be playing the role of “Raquel” on the upcoming season of “Single Ladies.” Vasi starred on the ABC show “All My Children” for a couple of years before it went off air, and will be replacing Stacey Dash, who played the role of “Val” on the show.
Dasi will star opposite Lisa Raye-McCoy and Charity Shea. The three women will navigate the highs and lows of love and relationships in the city of Atlanta.
“It was a rare and wonderful moment during the audition when everyone in the room immediately knew we had found our Raquel,” said Jeff Olde, VH1′s EVP of Original Production and Programming, to Deadline. “Denise’s beauty, style, grace and humor leap from the screen.”
The show, created by Stacy Littlejohn and Queen Latifah, is the first scripted show on VH1. It brought in nearly 3 million viewers when it premiered on VH1 last year.
