Girl group fans can rejoice. Destiny’s Child is back! After Beyonce announced earlier this week that the group would release a new greatest hits album called Love Songs, and new music was coming soon, the ladies made good on their promise last night.
Their new single “Nuclear” is the first song anyone has heard from Destiny’s Child since the group called it quits in 2005 and members Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams went on to further their solo careers. The song was produced and co-written by Pharrell Williams.
For fans, eight years is a long time to wait, but the feedback online has already been very positive. In conjunction with the release of “Nuclear,” Sony Music announced a new Destiny’s Child Tumblr from the group.
Beyonce is known to make double and triple headlines any given week, and this one was no different. The star released a new trailer for her upcoming tell-all documentary Life Is But A Dream, which will premiere on HBO February 16th at 9pm EST. It looks like Mrs. Carter is being more candid than ever before about her personal struggles within the industry.
“How do I stay current? How do I stay soulful?” she asked. “I had been so commercially successful. It wasn’t enough. It’s something really stressful about having to keep up with that. You can’t express yourself; you can’t grow. That is the battle of my life.” Watch the new trailer below and tell us if you plan to tune in.
