Call us crazy, but do you recall a time when pregnant women were allowed to just be, well, pregnant? We’re talking about the days when it was okay, and kinda expected, that a pregnant woman would gain weight and go through the myriad of body changes that come with being an expectant mom.
Recently, Kim Kardashian, who is five months preggos, has been on the receiving end of criticism over everything from her maternity wardrobe to her weight gain. In comments sections and blogs, the reality star has been compared to the likes of Shamu (real classy, folks) and called “fat” and “huge.” Granted, Kardashian isn’t exactly America’s sweetheart, but she does deserve some kind of understanding on our part.
Down in Atlanta, Housewives star Kenya Moore recently threatened Phaedra Parks, who is a little over eight months pregnant, with a Detroit beatdown. “You will be picking up your teeth off the floor, pregnant and all!” she hollered on the reunion show this past weekend. The rest of the cast looked on, stunned.
Have we come to a place where a pregnant woman is fair game to the same amount of criticism as the rest of us? Share your thoughts and comments with us below. [poll id=292921]
