Is no one safe from Internet hackers?
The Huffington Post reports that the White House was recently hit by a major cyber attack. The White House regularly gets hit with attempted cyber attacks, but this latest one was so strong it “significantly delayed” the entire system for almost two weeks.
In this day and age, Internet security is a serious concern for everyone. A Gallup poll found that computer hacking is one of the most feared crimes in America, more than burglaries, car break-ins, and muggings. The poll showed that 69% of people “frequently” worry about computer hackers stealing their credit card information. That’s not a far -fetched fear. Earlier this year stores like Target, Neiman Marcus, and Home Depot all experienced massive security breaches.
Another 62% of respondents said they’re also afraid of hackers breaking into their cell phones and stealing personal information. Throughout the year, we’ve seen many celebrities like Meagan Good and Jennifer Lawrence exposed after hackers stole their private nude photos.
