As could be expected, Sunday night’s Real Housewives of Atlanta premiere was full of drama. Most notably, the drama between Phaedra Parks and her husband, Apollo Nida.
In the season premiere, Nida was making his way to his sentencing hearing and his wife, Parks, was not by his side. Parks was at a hotel with her mother and two sons.
“Life is extremely difficult right now,” she said. “Apollo’s actions are the ultimate betrayal. I thought he was a changed man.”
Meanwhile, Nida felt betrayed by his wife. “The woman I thought was supposed to be there for me and cherish me is nowhere to be found,” he said. He then tearfully continued, “I’m here by myself on the biggest day of my life.”
Parks did eventually return home after Nida was sentenced to eight years behind bars. But he wasn’t excited to see her back. “You all decided to come back? You abandoned me. Family is supposed to stick together,” Nida told his wife.
“Were you thinking about your family? You couldn’t have been. It was selfish on your part,” an angry Parks responded.
