Miguel nearly lost his cool on Monday. The “Adorn” singer launched into a Twitter tirade when his 500,000 plus followers began criticizing him and saying he worships the devil.
Miguel posted a photo of himself wearing a sweater featuring a “devil” hand symbol. The picture apparently didn’t sit well with many of his fans, who soon vocalized their disapproval. He responded to comments saying, “I’m proud of my heritage but honestly, Black people are the most judgmental people in the world. We’ve been condition, pre-programmed to hate ourselves.”
The Mexican and Black singer continued, “That’s why I appreciate those who choose to think and act for themselves regardless of ethnicity or culture.”
A fan seemed to share similar sentiments with the ticked-off vocalist. “I’ve had 400 years of conditioning. Even my condition has been conditioned,” shared @Nonchalant_Svant. Miguel followed up, “The problem can not be fixed until the problem is recognized. Not everyone is the same thank goodness. And obviously, I love all my fans. Of course EVERYONE is judgmental. I just PERSONALLY believe WE are the most critical of our own.”
But is Miguel on to something? Are we more judgmental and critical against our own? Take our poll below and share your thoughts.
