The number of reality-based TV series continues to grow. The latest, OWN’s Love In The City, premieres tomorrow night. The docu-series follows four Black women as they navigate romance, health struggles, work, and friendship in New York City.
One of the things that sets this series apart from other reality shows is that the women — Kiyah Wright, Bershan Shaw, Chenoa Maxwell, and Tiffany Jones — have all been friends for over 10 years. The stars of the show say their friendship allows for an underlying layer of love and support no matter what conflicts arise between them.
Meanwhile on the west coast, a fight broke out between two Black women during the first day of filming for VH1’s popular reality show franchise Love & Hip Hop‘s newest installment: Love & Hip Hop LA.
All of this news makes us wonder which show viewers are more excited for. Do you want to be empowered by images of family and genuine friendships among Black women? Do you prefer to escape your own drama by watching someone else’s for an hour? Or would you rather just learn how to remodel your kitchen for less? Let us know below!
