On Tuesday it was announced that Eve will be joining CBSโs The Talk as a regular co-host. The 39-year-old will be sitting alongside Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood five days a week.
Excited about starting the job, Eve talked to ESSENCE on Monday about the new gig and what sheโs hoping to bring to the table.
โI hope that I can bring my personality, my opinion when it comes to different things,โ Eve said. โI think the fact that I live in London, and the fact that Iโm also in an interracial relationship, the fact that Iโm a step-mom โIโm hoping that I can bring my personal life, things that are in my personal life into the group.โ
Speaking of living in London, the Grammy award winnerโs husband Maximillion Cooper and stepchildren will be across the pond when sheโs in Los Angeles filming the daytime talk show โwe had to know what her day to day will now look like with them being so far away.

โIf I have any anxieties [about being on the show], it would be that. I love living in the UK, obviously love being with my husband and my dog, and I love my life there. But, I feel blessed and lucky to have gotten this opportunity, and itโs an opportunity thatโs crazy to pass.โ
โWeโll make it work. My husband will fly out, he loves California, my step kids love California, and Iโll fly back to London when I can. Weโll figure it out, thatโs just life. Itโs a great opportunity.โ
Since The Talk was launched in 2010 its welcomed everyone from Tyler Perry to Nia Long, Whoopi Goldberg and Niecy Nash. But if there are two people Eve would love to interview itโd be icons of Black girl magic.
โOprah, the ultimate talk show queen,โ Eve confessed. โAnd because Iโm from music as well, and Iโve always been a giant fan, probably Lauryn Hill.โ
