

According to a recent study by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, one in five divorce cases in the U.S. cite Facebook. This “trend” doesn’t show any signs of slowing down either — 81 percent of top attorneys in the country say they’ve seen a growth in the number of cases using social networking evidence within the last year. Before we get ahead of ourselves and blame Facebook for breaking up happy homes, let’s assume that those failed relationships weren’t all that happy before any online foul play even occurred, however, we can’t deny that Facebook makes infidelity a lot easier than it used to be by connecting us with our lost loves of years past. But like any online tool, it also makes getting caught a lot easier, hence this growth of Facebook evidence in divorce cases.
