A cause of death has been determined for the legendary Natalie Cole.
USA TODAY reports that the 65-year-old singer died last week of heart failure, caused by complications from pulmonary arterial hypertension, which she had developed following her 2009 kidney transplant.

“[Cole] responded well to pulmonary arterial hypertension-specific agents over many years, during which she performed many concerts world-wide, but eventually succumbed to intractable right heart failure, an outcome that unfortunately commonly occurs in this progressive disorder,” the family said in a statement.
We continue to send our love and prayers to Cole’s family.
