A longtime Whitney Houston fan is now the proud owner of her New Jersey home. According to Zillow, emergency room physician Matthew Krauthamer, 33, bought the Mendham, New Jersey property for $1.5 million.
The 13,607-square-foot home was built in 1987 and is where Houston married Bobby Brown in 1992. It boasts five bedrooms, six bathrooms, two Jacuzzi’s, a large swimming pool and tennis court. The property had been on the market for three years when Houston passed away on February 11, 2012.
Krauthamer, who lived a few blocks away from the house, says he has no plans to exploit Houston’s legacy despite numerous requests for tours from fans and filmmakers. “She got, obviously, some bad press at times, but one thing that she was was a very kind and generous person,” he said. “She took care of the people that were closest to her, and that’s something that’s always stuck in my mind.”
He plans to move in soon.
