This week the pairs danced to the theme song of a television show, which provided cuter than usual costumes and entertaining film shorts. And with any week as a contestant on DWTS, there were ups and downs—this week especially for Kim Zolciak, who suffered a minor stroke this week in Atlanta and was unable to make it back in time for Monday’s show. Bindi and Derek also suffered a blow when their song choice was denied at the last minute, leaving them scrambling to learn a new dance in just 2 days—with Bindi’s foot aching, of course.
But it wasn’t all lows. Nick Carter and partner Sharna earned straight NINES from all four judges this week, earning the highest score of the night and competition thus far. And his HAIR! Nick was definitely the sleekest man of the night, dancing to the Downton Abbey theme song. I can honestly say as a true Backstreet Boys fan, I think this is the best Nick has ever looked—like, ever.
Now onto Tamar and Val. If you’ve been tuning in, you know the start of the pair’s segment always begins with Val explaining the concept of this week’s dance—which tends to be a bit womanizing—followed by Tamar questioning everything and demanding the woman be treated right. This week was no different. The pair danced to the Mad Men theme song, portraying a sexy boss vs. secretary struggle of power. They ended up nailing the dance—and Tamar’s beauty look was on point. She’s been quietly flying under our radar, with sophisticated bobs, chic hair accessories, loose curls, and tasteful stage makeup, but we couldn’t take our eyes off her tonight. Her ’60s-inspired, middle-parted twists paired with her sexy red dress and demands that her partner dream up a dance where the woman was in charge made her our official winner of tonight’s competition—in beauty and on principle.
