Lee Thompson Young, perhaps best known for his role as the action-packed kid in the Disney Channel’s The Famous Jett Jackson in the late ’90s, has died.
Although details are scarce, TMZ is reporting that the former child star died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound today. He was 29.
Young’s landlord discovered his body around 9:45 a.m. after staff members from his current hit TV show, Rizzoli & Isles, noticed he wasn’t at work. They then placed a call to Young’s landlord to investigate.
Since beginning his career in 1998, the South Carolina native appeared in over a dozen TV shows and a handful of films. His most notable performances were on Flash Forward, Friday Night Lights, Akeelah and the Bee, and Scrubs.
