A 4-year-old boy remains in critical condition after being shot in the head while riding in a car with his mother in Cleveland, WKYC News reports.
In what is being described as a road rage incident, the child’s mother honked her horn at a white, four-door Pontiac that was blocking the street at an intersection near West 28th Street and Division Avenue. The vehicle, containing two men, followed the woman onto the Shoreway and fired two shots at her car.
She exited the highway and called for help.
The child, who was conscious and breathing at the time, was taken to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. He underwent surgery to remove bullet fragments. Police said it appears the fragments did not penetrate his brain.
No arrests have been made in the incident. An investigation continues. Those with information are encouraged to call investigators at 216-621-1234.
