Frank Ocean unexpectedly canceled a number of his summer tour dates, including a gig as the opening act for Coldplay’s stadium tour, in addition to gigs at V Festival, Bestival, Pukkelpop and Way Out West music festivals due to vocal trouble.
According to Billboard, Ocean stopped singing mid-performance at the Oya Festival in Norway recently and once again blamed the interruption on vocal problems.
“Let me start by saying I feel like an asshole right now,” Ocean said in a statement.
“A tough decision had to be made in regard to my schedule over the next months and the casualties of that decision include my appearances at upcoming festivals in Europe and my opening slot on the European leg of the Coldplay world tour,” he said. “Sorry as f–k, I’ll be back if you’ll have me.”
Ocean’s first album, Channel Orange, debuted at number two on the Billboard charts in July.
