On Saturday, August 1st, close friends and family gathered at St. James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, Georgia to remember Bobbi Kristina in a private memorial service, AP reports.
Bobby Brown, along with his wife Alicia Etheredge, Cissy Houston, Pat Houston and Brown’s sister, Leolah Brown were all present at the service. After the service, Alicia Etheredge reportedly suffered a seizure and was taken to the hospital.
Several celebrities attended the funeral including filmmaker Tyler Perry, R&B singer Monica, Phaedra Parks, Kelly Price and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed. Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, Nick Gordon, was not in attendance.
The hearse carrying Bobbi Kristina’s body is reported to have arrived three hours ahead of the service.
Security for the open-casket memorial service was very tight.
Guests for the memorial service were reportedly escorted to the church by police motorcade.
Alpharetta police say they were assisted by more than a dozen state troopers in managing traffic and shutting down lanes to accommodate parking around the church.
Bobbi Kristina’s body is expected to be laid to rest Monday beside Whitney Houston in New Jersey.
