Put simply, young Douglas, who left her family behind at age 14 to move to Iowa to pursue her dreams of becoming an elite athlete, has become an overnight star. And, the endorsement deals are expected to roll in by the millions.
Experts are saying that Douglas could earn 10 million dollars or more in endorsements over the next few years, reports ABC News.
โGabby Douglas is perfect for family oriented brands that are looking for someone that portrays all of those classic Middle America values,โ said Robert Tuchman, a sports marketing analyst who sat down with ABC.
Itโs her amazing smile and girl-next-door appeal that has instantly made her Americaโs Sweetheart and a model spokeswoman for any brand โ cosmetics, shoes or sports drinks.
The newfound income will be a blessing for Douglasโ family. Her single mother, Natalie Hawkins has reportedly invested a lot in her daughterโs Olympic dreams and was nervous when all the top sponsorship spots were taken before the games began, reports the New York Times.
