A girl scout troop made up of homeless members has set a goal to sell 6,000 boxes of cookies. Troop 6,000 is New York City’s first homeless shelter based troop founded through a partnership between New York City’s Department of Homeless Services and the Girl Scouts of Greater New York. Meredith Maskara, of the Girl Scouts of Greater New York says the troop has had a big impact on the girls, who all say they have found a “sisterhood” through the organization. (MadameNoire)
A Jerry Springer producer has been arrested for murder. Jill Blackstone a former producer for Jerry Springer and Sally Jessy Raphael was arrested recently after it was revealed that her sister’s suicide may have been facilitated by Jill. Former FBI director James Comey says “it’s possible” that Donald Trump was “with prostitutes peeing on each other.” Comey told ABC News, “I honestly never thought these words would come out of my mouth, but I don’t know whether the current President of the United States was with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow in 2013. A judge has denied Bill Cosby’s request for a mistrial after Chelan Lasha, one of the five women allowed to testify during the trial to prove that Cosby committed “prior bad acts,” after she addressed Cosby following her testimony. Lasha alleges that the comedian drugged and assaulted her in Las Vegas in 1986 when she was 17. The defense asked for a mistrial after the outburst, but Judge Steven O’Neill denied the request and instructed jurors to disregard Lasha’s outburst. (HuffPost)
